Jung was a prolific writer and its hard to summarize his work concisely - not sure it is that easy to follow the stuff on alchemy - and some of the ideas on animus and anima might be hard for all readers to4/5. The book is a good introduction to Jung’s psychology.
Jung wrote Part I, which is a really good presentation on his ideas on the unconscious and the role of dreams. The rest of the book was written by several of his closet and most-trusted colleagues, every chapter of which was edited by Jung himself, so you can trust what everyone says.
In Transformations and Symbols of the Libido (), Jung interpreted God as a symbol of the libido (CW B, §III). In his subsequent work, Jung laid great emphasis on the distinction between the God image and the metaphysical existence of God (cf passages added to the revised retitled edition, Symbols of Transformation, CW 5, §95).
Jung wrote extensively on non-rational human endeavors such as mythology and alchemy. This work is an attempt to bring together for the first time all of his thoughts on the subject from various works.
